Hi Kathy and Jim, I'd just like to thank you for the company and conversation during my hike in the canyon this April (2002). In particular I'd like to thank you for pointing out the great campsite below Tanner rapids. I'll have to send you the photo I got of you two above Unkar rapids where we met, sorry it has taken so long. Have done three GCNP backpacking trips myself. Enjoyed comparing/checking out your meals and equipment very much. Obviously very carefully planned. Perhaps I missed it, but didn't see where you listed/showed the packs you use. Also, how did you get a permit for five days in the same zone? All in all, very informative and interesting.
